Happiness Heroes

My Happy Mind and Happiness Heroes

At Brookfield we use the NHS backed scheme 'My Happy Mind' to support children's mental health, wellbeing and personal development. This scheme teaches children how their brains work, how to build resilience and how to develop positive habits that support lifelong wellbeing. Children have regular My Happy Mind assemblies where children learn strategies for managing emotions, celebrating their strengths and developing their confidence. As a result, children feel more secure, ready to learn and are equipped with lifelong skills that support both their wellbeing and their academic success.

Meet our Happiness Heroes!

At the start of the year children who wanted to become a Happiness Hero filled in an application form explaining why they would make a good happiness hero. Miss Reeder selected children who had really thought about how they could benefit the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of their peers.

Happiness Heroes are responsible for:

  • Ensuring that their peers are happy during break and lunch times.
  • Organise activities each lunch time for other children.
  • Attending meetings to organise My Happy Mind events.
  • Plan and hold events to promote positive mental health.
  • Look out for children demonstrating their character strengths.
