Parent Workshops
Empowering families through Parent Workshops is an integral part of our Parents as Partners approach in EYFS.
Research shows that when parents are involved in their child's education, children can benefit in many ways, including:
- Improved behaviour
- Higher attendance rates
- Greater self-esteem and confidence
- More enthusiasm for learning
- Better results
Learning doesn't just stop once you leave school. Every day is a learning day!
Parent workshops in primary schools are important because they can help parents:
Learn parenting skills
Workshops provide practical strategies and information to help parents improve their parenting skills
Understand their child's development
Workshops help parents learn about their child's cognitive, linguistic, and emotional development
Communicate with their child
Workshops help parents improve communication with their children
Build community
Workshops can help parents share experiences and challenges with other parents, building a sense of community
Learn about modern life challenges
Workshops help parents learn about challenges such as mental health, social media, and wellbeing
Support their child's learning
Workshops can help parents learn what their child is studying and how they can support their child's learning at home
Workshops are on offer for our parents at Brookfield throughout the academic year. We provide workshops for phonics, reading, writing and mathematics. There may also be others available if needed throughout the year. All workshops are in person and led by Miss Hodgson at school. They are always after school hours and are never more than an hour. Attending the workshops are highly recommended, as not only are they educational and fun, but they also provide the opportunity to get some resources for home! Once completed, Parent Workshops are then made available on the school website in PDF/PowerPoint versions to use at home.
