Year 2 - Mrs Townson
Class information
Hi everyone, I am Mrs Townson and I am the Year Two class teacher. Mrs Wilkinson supports the children throughout the week as the class TA.
The children are also taught by Miss McElhone on a Friday to cover my PPA and the morning I don't work.
We have PE on a Friday afternoon, please send your child in their PE kit and school hoodie, making sure earrings are removed or covered with plasters. Please can PE bottoms be plain black jogging bottoms or leggings.
If there is something that is happening at school or at home that you are concerned or unhappy about, please do not hesitate to speak to me before or after school. Alternatively, you can make an appointment with me by contacting the school office.
So far in year two:
In English, we have started our book ‘The way home for wolf’ which will be used to write a character description, an information text on wolves, and a story.
In maths, the children are learning place value up to 100. They use a range of practical resources to help their understanding.
In science, the children are learning about living things in their habitats. This links with geography and the topic of animals around the world.
Miss McElhone has been teaching the children RE and PNE will be delivering the PE curriculum.
Over the autumn term our topic in PSHE is relationships, we will be discussing topics around families and friendships, healthy relationships and respecting ourselves and others.
