Smart School Council

At our school, the children are at the heart of everything we do. It is essential that they have a voice and are encouraged to grow into active, democratic citizens who can make a real difference in their community.

To support this, we have launched our Smart School Council. Unlike traditional school councils where only a small group of pupils are elected, our Smart School Council involves every single pupil in the school. Each child has an important role to play, ensuring that everyone’s ideas and opinions are valued and heard.

Through class meetings, pupils discuss key questions, share their views, and vote on decisions that affect school life. This helps children to:

• Develop confidence in speaking and listening.

• Learn how democracy works in a fair and inclusive way.

• Understand the importance of teamwork and respect for others’ opinions.

• Take responsibility for making positive changes in their school community.

By giving all pupils a voice, our Smart School Council helps create a stronger, kinder, and more inclusive school where every child knows that their ideas matter.
