Reception Class Mrs. Townson

Mrs TownsonHello, Welcome to our Reception Class webpage, here you can find all the information about our class and keep up to date with our curriculum and see class photos.

I am Mrs Townson and work in Reception Monday through to Thursday all day. In school I lead phonics and art so please ask away about any ways you can help with getting your child to start to learn to read.

This is Miss Little and she will teach in Reception on a Friday to cover PPA and part time hours. Miss Little will  teach  RE and PE on Friday alongside the other areas of the classroom. Miss Little is our Deputy Head at Brookfield, she is also phase leader for EYFS and KS1, PE and English across school as well as many other important elements of school life.

This is Miss Davis. Miss Davis works in Reception full time, She has had many years experience in a variety of early years settings and we are looking forward to getting to use her expertise with the children.

This is Miss McElhone or Miss Mac as the children and I call her! Miss Mac works in Reception each morning and has been helping to settle the children in to their new rules and routines. Miss Mac is a HLTA or Higher Level Teaching Assistant so she covers class teachers PPA time most afternoons in across school.

This is Miss Carr. Miss Carr works in Reception each afternoon and has had a lot of experience in our reception classroom. Miss Carr works with the children each afternoon, spending time in the provision with them and adding challenge to their purposeful play.

At Brookfield Community Primary School we want children to really enjoy their first years at school. In Reception, we provide a safe, caring and inclusive environment where children can learn and grow in all areas of their development. Communication is important to us and we value the relationship that we develop with parents throughout this vital year of the children's learning journey.

There are 23 children in the Reception Class.

We have a self-contained classroom with our own outside area which allows us to provide engaging continuous indoor and outdoor provision. We also have our own toilets.

Our PE lesson is on Friday. Please send your child dressed in their uniform with their school PE hoody. They may also wear  black shorts, tracksuit bottoms or leggings and a pair of plain black pumps or trainers. All earrings must be removed or covered with plasters on a Friday.

A polite reminder that children should be in uniform each day.

Water bottles & snack is available on the snack table for children to access as and when they need to.

If you have any questions or concerns about school please don't hesitate to speak to  myself at the beginning or end of the day. Alternatively you can make an appointment at the office to speak to myself at a mutually convenient time. Please remember we no longer use ClassDojo for communication messages.
