Pupil Leadership Opportunities

At Brookfield Community Primary School, we are proud to provide a range of pupil leadership opportunities that enable children to make a positive contribution to our school community. Through these roles, pupils develop our core values of respect, resilience, independence, inclusivity and kindness, while building confidence, responsibility and leadership skills. Our pupil leaders help to shape school life, support others and act as positive role models, demonstrating that every child has the power to make a difference. 

Gardeners & Seeds

Our Gardeners & Seeds programme pairs Year 6 pupils with Reception children, fostering kindness, respect and inclusivity. Through shared activities such as reading, playing and celebrating achievements together, older pupils develop their leadership skills while helping younger children feel welcomed, valued and supported. 

School Council

Our School Council gives children a meaningful voice in school life. Members demonstrate respect, resilience and independence by representing their peers, sharing ideas and working together to improve our school community. They play an important role in promoting democracy and ensuring every child feels heard and included.

Sports Crew

Sports Crew members inspire active and positive play across the school. Through organising games and activities for younger pupils, they promote kindness, inclusivity and resilience, helping everyone to enjoy playtimes while developing their own confidence, responsibility and leadership skills. 

Happiness Heroes

Our Happiness Heroes champion wellbeing and positive mental health throughout the school. They show kindness, respect and inclusivity by supporting their peers, organising activities and promoting positive relationships. Their work helps create a happy, caring environment where everyone can thrive.

Eco Warriors

Our Eco Warriors encourage the whole school community to care for the environment. Through leading initiatives and promoting sustainable choices, they demonstrate respect, resilience and responsibility, inspiring others to make a positive difference to our world.

Reading Ambassadors

Reading Ambassadors promote a love of reading across the school by sharing book recommendations, supporting reading events and encouraging younger pupils to enjoy books. They embody kindness, independence and inclusivity, helping to create a vibrant reading culture where every child can develop as a confident reader.

 

 

 

 

 

World Book Day 2024

What a celebration! This year we have enjoyed a surprise 'Exotic Animal Encounter' - read and written non-fiction texts across school based on animals. We have participated in an online poetry event with Ian Bland and 70 other schools writing and performing a live poem. Taken part in Scholastic book events sharing stories from wonderful authors and illustrators who hosted draw-a-longs and writing workshops and finally we have our annual Book Fair in school for children to have the opportunity to buy their own book to love and enjoy at home. 

World of Stories

This year we have been participating in Puffin's World of Stories, we have recieved 500 new books to add to our school collection of stories and our aim is to develop the love of reading in all children. 

We have developed our classroom libraries and developed a book nook in school where children can snuggle up with a book and enjoy being read to, reading with others or reading peacefully.

Chinese New Year 2022 - The Year of the Tiger

We celebrated the new year in a range of ways, including Tai Chi, lantern-making and dragon dancing. These fun activities were led by the Confucius Institute from the University of Central Lancashire.
