Our Gardener and Seed programme pairs each Year 6 pupil, known as a Gardener, with a Reception child, known as a Seed. Throughout the year, the children build a special relationship by reading together, playing together, sharing lunch, writing to one another and celebrating each other’s achievements.
This initiative provides valuable opportunities for pupils to demonstrate our school values. Year 6 pupils develop independence and responsibility as role models, show kindness and respect through their support of younger children, promote inclusivity by ensuring everyone feels valued and involved, and develop resilience as they nurture positive relationships over time. The programme creates a strong sense of community across the school and helps every child feel connected, supported and valued.
