    Our Reading Ambassadors

At Brookfield Community Primary School, our Reading Ambassadors play an important role in promoting a love of reading across the whole school. They are enthusiastic readers who help to make sure that children’s voices are heard when it comes to books, reading activities and the development of our reading culture.

Our Reading Ambassadors work together to inspire others, recommend books and celebrate the exciting reading taking place throughout Brookfield. They speak to pupils across different year groups, gather opinions and ideas and help us find new ways to make reading enjoyable and accessible for everyone. They also support special reading events, take part in interviews and contribute to our Reading Ambassador newsletter, The Ambassadors’ Bookmark.

Through their role, pupils develop confidence, communication skills, responsibility and leadership, while helping to make reading a visible and valued part of everyday school life.

    Our Reading Ambassadors aim to:

    • Promote a love of reading and encourage children to read for pleasure.
    • Give pupils a voice by listening to their ideas and opinions about books and reading.
    • Recommend and celebrate books that children across the school may enjoy.
    • Support reading events and activities, helping to make reading exciting and memorable.
    • Share reading news through The Ambassadors’ Bookmark and celebrate what different classes are reading.
    • Be positive reading role models, inspiring other children to discover new authors, genres and stories.
    • Help develop our school reading culture, ensuring that every child feels included and encouraged as a reader.
