Welcome to Year One!
Happy New Year! Welcome back to school, we hope you have all had a very enjoyable holiday and we look forward to hearing all about what you've been doing at home.
Our PE day is Monday. All the children should wear a white t-shirt with blue shorts and black pumps. During the winter months, the children can wear a pair of tracksuit bottoms.
Our Topic theme this half term is 'Fire, Fire' We will be learning all about the Great Fire of London. We are have a theatre group in school next week to really get the children enthused about the topic. I have worked with them many times before and they are brilliant - I still have some of the older children talk to me about when they visited them when they were in Year 1. You can help your child learn about the Great Fire by researching online or looking at books from the library on the subject.
These documents show what Year 1 will be learning about over the course of the year.
The national curriculum document will show you in more detail the skills the children will learn in each subject and how these link to the topics covered over the year.
